1. AI Leadership Advisory Cooperative

As the complexities associated with artificial intelligence for teaching and learning unfold rapidly, the CCIU continues to facilitate the AI Leadership Advisory Cooperative for school and district administrators. The purpose of the Co-op is to develop a collaborative community of educational leaders to guide the development of programs, services, and resources that will support schools in addressing needs related to the impact of artificial intelligence. During the 2023-34 school year, the AI Leadership Advisory Cooperative included representation from at least 15 school districts and runs monthly. Facilitated by the CCIU, the AI Leadership Advisory Cooperative members will ongoingly share ideas and needs with the goal of learning from one another and receiving services from the CCIU directly related to your needs.

2. Book Study: Redefining Geek: Bias and the Five Hidden Habits of Tech-Savvy Teens

Focused on "Redefining Geek: Bias and the Five Hidden Habits of Tech-Savvy Teens". Today, a majority of jobs require digital skills. Are our students graduating with the habits necessary to successfully enter and remain in a future career? In "Redefining Geek", Cassidy Puckett, a previous K-12 technology teacher, overturns the stereotypes around the digitally savvy and identifies the habits that can help everyone cultivate their inner geek. Together we will discuss how to infuse our takeaways to reshape educational approaches, champion inclusivity, and contribute to a more equitable future in technology education.

The MTSS Framework for Principals and School Leaders program is designed to provide principals and school leaders with an understanding of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)framework and how to set up appropriate action steps that will reduce barriers for student learning, growth, and success. Through course content, leaders will explore the MTSS framework through means of engagement, representation, action, and expression. This program will provide the opportunity for leaders to establish a framework that empowers all educators to meet goals with a tiered support to the right student at the right time.

The major ideas of the course are:
- School leaders will be able to define and display a solid understanding of the MTSS framework, how it relates to other student support frameworks (RTI and PBIS), and how to center equitable practices and the whole child.
- School leaders will assess their current MTSS framework through the lens of their district/building using the Needs Assessment.
- Understanding how to use the baseline data from the Needs Assessment in order to develop a plan of action for MTSS implementation and how to improve its effectiveness.
- Build a school or district-wide tiered intervention menu that includes academic and behavioral interventions.
- In a school system, engage in data-driven problem solving, decision making, intervention planning, and progress monitoring.

This training covers the requirements of LEA under IDEA related to Child Find. Child Find refers to activities undertaken by public education agencies to identify, locate, and evaluate children residing in the State, including children attending private schools, who are suspected of having disabilities, regardless of the severity of their disability, and determine the child's need for special education and related services. The purpose is to locate these children so that a free appropriate public education (FAPE) can be made available.

26. December Child Accounting Fundamentals

The Child Accounting Fundamentals course will train new Child Accounting staff on specific Child Accounting collection information and tasks. The course covers outplaced students, verifying 1305/1306 students' documentation, reviewing policies and procedures related to Child Accounting and registration, 4605s, homelessness, and guardianship affidavits. The course also prepares participants to upload files into PIMS.

This course includes two days of classroom instruction and one day of customized coaching. Classroom instruction includes interactive presentations, hands-on activities, and group discussions. Coaching includes 1-to-1 support with your LEAs PIMS data and Student Information System. Coaching can be broken down into three 2.5-hour sessions or five 1.5-hour sessions scheduled at your convenience. Coaching hours must be used within 90 days of classroom instruction.

This full day in-person session is the QPR Gatekeeper Training to become a certified trainer of Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR). QPR's mission is to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing effective suicide prevention training to intervene on behalf of individuals who are thinking of suicide or are in crisis. This training will review suicide statistics, prevalence, warning signs and clues, teaching QPR and model the delivery of QPR. Upon completion, participants can provide QPR sessions to interested populations.

The PIMS Fundamentals course will assist new PIMS Administrators in getting started on their PIMS journey. The course provides participants with an introduction to PIMS, an explanation of the PIMS manuals and calendars, uploading data to PIMS, PIMS Resources, PASecureID, PIMS Reports V2, Submitting ACSs, and Excel file guidance.

This course includes two days of live classroom instruction and one day of customized coaching. Classroom instruction includes interactive presentations, hands-on activities, and group discussions. Coaching includes 1-to-1 support with your LEAs PIMS data and Student Information System. Coaching can be broken down into three 2.5-hour sessions or five 1.5-hour sessions scheduled at your convenience. Coaching hours must be used within 90 days of classroom instruction.

36. SLIFE Solutions: Integrating Math and ELD

The SLIFE Solutions Workgroup is an opportunity to create a space, a place and a time for math teachers, EL specialists, and administrators to have conversations and share resources around best practices for teaching math to Newcomers and SLIFE. Participants will be working collaboratively to create a framework, plan lessons, and share resources and assessments that build math and language skills for Newcomers and SLIFE. IES Consultants Alana Gerstein, Amanda Galajda, and Jeanne Moylan will be present to facilitate and provide coaching and assistance in math and ELD. This workgroup will meet 3 times in the fall of 2024, with the possibility of extending to additional sessions in the spring of 2025.

59. Wilson Reading System Introductory Course

This course provides participants with an overview of the Wilson Reading System (WRS) and serves as the prerequisite for WRS Level I Certification Training. This course examines the intensive intervention reading instruction necessary for students in grade two and above with persistent and significant phonological-coding deficits. Participants learn about dyslexia (indicators, misconceptions, neurobiological aspects, and prevalence), typical versus atypical reading acquisition, appropriate student identification and placement, and key components and principles of instruction, including the factors necessary for high-quality program implementation. How to teach phonology (including phonemic awareness), morphology, and orthography in an integrated, explicit, systematic, and multisensory way is demonstrated and practiced during the course. Participants explore the standard ten-part WRS Lesson Plan and practice planning, delivering, and individualizing a WRS Lesson while receiving modeling and feedback from a Wilson Credentialed Trainer.

Course Objectives
-Define dyslexia and understand its prevalence and impact on the acquisition of reading skills and cognitive processes
-Explain the process of identifying students with a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia, or other characteristics that indicate the need for intensive, multisensory instruction with the WRS.
-Understand the Response to Intervention (RTI) model and how to implement it.
-Demonstrate understanding of the WRS Principles of Instruction: direct, explicit, structured, sequential, integrated, multisensory, synthetic, analytical, diagnostic, prescriptive, mastery/automaticity, cumulative, metacognitive, and emotionally sound.

This course includes two days of classroom instruction and one day of customized coaching. Classroom instruction includes interactive presentations, hands-on activities, and group discussions. Coaching includes 1-to-1 support with your LEAs PIMS data and Student Information System. Coaching can be broken down into three 2.5-hour sessions or five 1.5-hour sessions scheduled at your convenience. Coaching hours must be used within 90 days of classroom instruction.
