The Early Intervention (EI) to Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) training provides a foundational understanding of the transition process for professionals as well as parents. Participants will learn about:
-the role of the Early Intervention Program and the Committee on Preschool Special Education as it relates to the transition process
- what to expect in the transition process
- timelines and vocabulary
- the role of the family/guardian, the provider(s), the County and the CPSE
- the importance of collaboration and communication throughout the process
This training is targeted for parents of young children; however special education administrators, CPSE Chairpersons, preschool special education evaluators, special education and general education teachers, early childhood professionals, related services professionals, municipality representatives, agency/community service providers or case managers and Early Intervention service coordinators are always welcome!

In this training we will walk through the Family Guide to Transition Planning-Preparing Students with Disabilities for Life After High School to assist families in understanding the transition planning process specifically from high school to life after high school. 3. Preschool Special Education Process @ OCM BOCES

Program: Mid-State FACE Center

Dates: 12/5/2024

The Preschool Special Education Process training is designed to gain a foundational understanding of the CPSE Process. Participants will:
- Understand the role of the Chairperson, the Preschool Provider, the Evaluator, the County and the parents as members of the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE)
- Learn about early childhood transitions, continuum of services and the requirements of the committee
- Develop practices which encourage parental involvement and cultivate home-school partnerships
This training is ideal to engage preschool partners in dialogue and partnership for the educational benefit of preschool students with disabilities, including: special education administrators, CPSE Chairpersons, preschool special education evaluators, special education and general education teachers, early childhood professionals, paraprofessionals, related services professionals, municipality representatives, agency/community service providers or case managers.

This training describes the ways in which a public health crisis, school crisis and/or types of civic unrest may be significant sources of stress and/or trauma for the students whom we support. Participants will receive a basic explanation of the biological, cognitive, emotional and behavioral effects of trauma on student development and the ways they in turn affect a student's academic and behavioral functioning in the classroom. We will also explore how to use the data, systems, and practices components of a multi-tiered systems approach to behavior to provide differentiated evidence-based supports.

This training provides an overview of the key elements of self-determination and how to apply them working with students.
Participants will
- identify the 8 components of self-determination
- review materials and resources to promote self-determination
- develop skills to design self-determination plans for students.
This training is ideal for special and general education teachers, administrators, related service personnel, agency representatives, families and students.

The purpose of this training package is to promote and encourage student and family involvement in the IEP development process and Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings. Tools, resources, and research-based content are embedded throughout the training to give grounding to the concepts that enhance student and parent involvement in the IEP process for pre-meeting, during the meeting, and post-meeting. Participants will:
• Identify the why and how to meaningfully engage and promote their child's participation in the development of their IEPs and Committee on Special Education (CSE) meeting.
• Identify and discuss how to build and encourage their child's self-determination skills.
• Receive and review materials and resources to promote student involvement in the IEP.

Specially designed instruction (SDI) is the teaching strategies and methods used by teachers to instruct students who receive special education services.
In this training participants will:
● understand the concepts of specially designed instruction.
● understand that there is both federal and state regulation around SDI.
● be able to examine what SDI might look like in the classroom and in the home.
● understand their value as engaged meaningful partners in the special education process and education of their child.

8. Diploma and Credential Options for Students with Disabilities - VIRTUAL

- Multiple pathways to graduation, 4 + 1 option requirements
- appeal eligibility criteria
- safety net options for students with disabilities
- exiting credentials available in NYS and the requirements for each This training is ideal for school counselors, administrators, school psychologists, special education and general education teachers, other related service providers, families, and students.

The Pyramid Model Framework was developed to describe and address the social-emotional needs of young children. Within the context of creating environments in which children can be successful, the Pyramid Model is a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MYSS) framework that supports the implementation of the practices needed to promote young children's social and emotional competence and efficiently address challenging behavior. This session will provide an introduction to the Pyramid Model framework. Audience includes early childhood program administrators, teachers, technical assistance providers and special education providers of preschool and early elementary age children and their families.

This training is intended to assist parents, family members, and Educational Organizations (EOs) in understanding the special education process delineated in education laws and regulations; knowing the roles and responsibilities of the various members of the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) and Committee on Special Education (CSE), particularly that of the Parent Member; and learning the techniques and strategies that are necessary for becoming an active participant in CPSE and CSE meetings.
